He wears a black and grey body suit with the letter "Z" on the front. In Zurg's true form, he is an elderly version of Buzz Lightyear from an alternate timeline with grey hair, wrinkled skin, and a slightly hunched back. His left hand has a retractable, triple-barreled ion blaster built into it. He has exceptionally durable purple armor, long, broad limbs, huge feet and hands, demon-like horns, glowing red eyes, and a frowning yellow mouth that glows when he speaks. This damage increases with each shot up to a maximum of 300% until he is interrupted.Like its Toy Story version, Zurg is a massive, fearsome robot who is several meters taller than the average human. While Emperor Zurg is channeling "Ion Blaster", he deals 50% more damage per shot. Zurg gains 20 energy every time he damages, scares, or steals energy from an enemy. Scared enemies take twice as much fantastic damage from all sources. Zurg shouts, scaring enemies for 7 seconds. Each shot from the ion blaster deals damage to each enemy. Zurg unleashes his ion blaster and fires it repeatedly until he runs out of energy. Other viable partners for Zurg can include Judy Hopps and Woody for attack speed, and WALL-E or Genie for extra energy boosts. Due to his ability to Scare and his affinity towards Fantastic Damage, Zurg can be very effective when paired up with other Scare-inflicting Heroes like Sulley and Mike to create a Scare team and make the most out of Zurg's Fantastic Damage output. His Green and Blue skills allow him to Scare enemies and steal energy respectively, and his Purple skill augments all other skills below it by granting Zurg energy every time he damages, Scares, or steals energy from an enemy, allowing him to charge up energy for his White skill that much faster. His White skill, "Ion Blaster", is unique in that it has Zurg continuously shoot ion blasts until he runs out of energy, as opposed to most Heroes who perform a single action with their White skill that immediately uses up all their energy.
Zurg is a fairly capable damage dealer who can cause major carnage with the right partners, thanks to his consistent AoE damage and debilitating abilities. Emperor Zurg blasts enemies with his Ion Blaster and intimidates them with his evil laugh.
